Obey Trust Expect

Act as though Christ's character is your own.
Obey as far as you know.
Trust Him to give you all you need.
Expect Him to live His life through your body as you deliberately depend on Him.

Just back from Lee's parents. His mom still recuperating. Last night, New Year's Eve. Put away Christmas. Girls stayed up. This morning, Dad called about New Year's brunch tradition. I put him off...mad. This ongoing tension, me caught between Lee and Dad.

Came home yesterday, after being asked and asked and asked about my novel. Read this front page story in NYTimes.

“Six months ago people were quitting their day job, convinced they could make a career out of writing,” said Bob Mayer, an e-book consultant and publisher who has written 50 books. “Now people are having to go back to that job or are scraping to get by.  That’s how quickly things have changed.”

Act as though Christ's character is your own.
Obey as far as you know.
Trust Him to give you all you need.

Lord, what can I do? I can "act as though." God is faithful to His promise; you will begin to experience new thoughts and emotions that replace the old. The Holy Spirit will enable you to do what you cannot do for yourself.

Lord, I don't know what You have for me going forward with my career. But I can trust You and obey You as far as I know. I can trust You to give me all I need. My goal is to want what You want. Help me to know what You want. I expect You to live Your life through me as I deliberately depend on You.

I am waiting on You, Lord.

In Your son's name I pray.

Amen
